Babysitter's Course
Fri March17th 1-4pm and Sat March 18th 3:30-5pm
Babysitter, safety tips, basic first aid, ( minor cuts, scrapes, bites, bleeding nose, minor burns) mealtimes(healthy foods and snacks), diapering babies, basic childcare skills and what to do in an emergency (such as a storm, or an intruder.)Specific topics include: becoming a successful babysitter (being prepared and responsible), caring for: babies (3 months-12 months (old), Toddlers (1-2 years old), Preschoolers (3-5 years old), and School Aged children (6 and older). It also includes strategies for handling misbehavior of children, caring for a sick or injured child as well as prevention and basic First Aid (cuts, bruises, bleeding nose etc.).

Home Alone Safety

This is an interactive safety program for youth ages 9 (turning 10) and up. This program prepares youth for the responsibility of being
at home alone safely. Specific topics covered include: Establishing a routine, House Key Responsibility, Stranger's Don't Have to Look
Strange, (How to handle phone calls and strangers at the door when you're home alone), The telephone is your Lifeline, Feeling Scared,
Emergencies; In Case of Fire, Severe Storms, Basic Internet Safety, and Basic First Aid.
Course material is developed and written by Canada Safety Council.
